I would ask the website people to have a look at this as the site does not make it possible to offer our items to the International market with correct Postage figures.

I have now listed many of my items just for Australia and North America but this is far from what I would like as I would expect many sales from other countries if I could get the correct information on shipping to the potential buyers.

One flat fee for International Cost is woefully inadequate.
Thanks for the update & heads up guys!

As I predicted in an earlier thread a little while back, when the UK & US postage rates rose, I knew we were sure to follow suit - thar she blows!

I agree the current Oz shipping set up is less than ideal here at eBid & these changes will make it even less so!
A flat international fee (especially for those of us that charge "actual costs") is difficult & time consuming e.g. lumping NZ in with the rest, overcharges them, & I've always had to either reimburse NZ buyers the difference, or, let them know by email their shipping rate prior the sale, or payment of any invoice.

It looks like we'll be editing our listings again shortly, as the UK & US users have just had to do.
I'm still waiting for an answer from support on this subject - "all quiet on the western front ATM"

Thanks for the response Gaz, I guess we'll just have to muddle through with what's available for awhile.
I imagine there are higher priorities ATM.
Yes- I thought the UK had all the bells & whistles as well?

Not as far as I am aware. The link on the listing creation form to Shipping Calculator simply takes you to the Royal Mail site to calculate a price. It doesn't actively calculate a price as the American and Canadian sites do.

It was Royal Mail's lack of an API that eBid 'complained' was the cause of eBid UK not having true calculated postage. See: http://www.ebid.net/forums/showthrea...ed#post1216131

Though, as said at #18 above, the words Pot, Kettle, and Black spring to mind.

    What??
I thought UK had a shipping calculator as well.
It's the first I've heard that you don't, I mean, makes sense if you did, beings eBid IS BRITISH right?

Thanks Mel for updating me, I'm quite shocked now.

    Edit:
OK, I just noticed your link and took a peek.
It was in June 2010, long time ago, and I don't ever recall seeing it.

If it is not possible for the website owners to include calculated International Postage, is it possible to have an option in the Postage menu along the lines of "Postage cannot be calculated at this time for your country.....please message the seller for a quote"... Thanks...Gary

On the U.S. site when you choose international shipping, flat rate, $0.00, unknown it will display c desc in the shipping field for the listing. Then you could put contact you for quote within the body of the listing. Just a thought.

This sounds like the sort of information that we need to provide our customers....Unfortunately we are not given this option in Ebid Australia (as far as I can see).
