Now I'm home I might finally finish re-reading Maskerade by Terry Pratchett - I must be the only person on the planet who reads *less* when on holiday!

I should be doing other things, but this thread has reminded me that I have a book to finish

Not in the mood for anything new at the moment - so am re-reading Jilly Cooper Riders in the garden, and Jean Auel Earth's Children in the bath and have Anne McCaffrey's Pern lying about the living room.

I can see that the riders would have plenty of space, but the children must be a bit squished. Pern, on the other hand, sounds jolly comfy.

... pmsl - I cannot get anything done at all just now - I go to 'tidy' and pick up a book and lose an hour or so...

Now reading 'Bog Standard Britain' by Quentin Letts. He is quite wonderfully savage about the dumbing down of Britain.
Just finished the latest Susan Hill crime novel, 'The Shadows In The Street' An excellent series
Got '1000 Years Of Annoying The French' lined up as soon as I finish Bog Standard.
I'm also running through the Robert B Parker Spenser series, definitely one of my favourite crime writers

Well my book arrived this morning (I'm still on Wednesday as I haven't been to bed yet), & I finished it this evening. Just as interesting, and enjoyable as I remembered.
Now I need to look out for the sequel. "Come into my World", as I cannot remember if I read that or not.
    Gothicina.

MAHATMA GANDHI - "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated."

I usually have three or four on the go. Currently:

"The Answer" by John Assaraf (awesome book on business)
"The Crystal Throne" by Kathryn Sullivan
The millionaire code by Robert allen
A Guide to Collecting Rare books (can't remember the title) - re-reading this one as well.

Brilliant series - I have the whole set

Just finished 'Royal Flush' - the story of Minette, sister of Charles II of England and wife of Philip, Duke of Orleans, who was the brother of Louis XIV of France - by Margaret Irwin.

Next one is 'The Return' by Victoria Hislop set during the Spanish Civil War.
