Our health centre has a large box to put them in , then they are all checked and are then sent to 3rd world countries

Rotary International does that..........as may well other charities. It's a great service. REALLLLY old ones might be sold on Ebid.......if they are vintage/antique type. Best bet is the charities, tho, as they will really use them.

I haven't checked to see if the UK has Lions clubs, but here, they collect old eyeglasses and like your health centres, distribute them to 3rd world people. Hm. I wonder if it would be more efficient to recycle them within the country of their original owners....

I have 2 old pairs here. I took a look at the prices they were fetching over yonder and put them on here for half that. NHS specs are in demand. Also the dame everage look ones. Anything vintage retro worth a go.
