What is an EAN/UPC Code?

Can anyone tell me what an EAN/UPC code is?

I uploaded 13 books from Ninja lister. All with the same settings. 7 books uploaded correctly. 6 failed with the message "EAN/UPC code must be valid"

I have checked and re-checked but can't figure this out. Think it might be something to do with the mail P&P codes but all 13 books were set exactly the same.

Do you know the amount of time it takes me to upload from Ninja, it might be easier to just relist individually !!!

It's a product code, and for books it should be ISBN. It goes in the bar code box.

Well actually i couldn't find a bar code box in Ninja Lister fields.
However I noticed that all 6 books were the ones where i changed the BNP (Buy now price) so I re-entered the price (just incase I had used o instead of zero.... and I reloaded them again and the upload has passed this time.

Then it looks as though there's an inconsistency between the site fields, Ninja fields, and the error messages and something's getting out of synch. EAN *is* what I said, but it appears the error message you were given was wrong!

I can't see the Bar code field and Yes I am still using an still using an old version. I chose not to implement the 0.99.47 version when I started Ninja today.
I find that everytime I accept a new version, the folders I have created and imported to disappear.

I have also.. i am sorry to say... not been on ebid for a fair while. Feebay has been offering free listings about twice a month and i've managed to sell a few things on there... a lot more than the 6 items bought by customers her since I joined in June. I am still a fan of Ebid though.

That explains why the fields and thus messages don't match. If you don't use the latest version, the file you produce may not be the right format, so the receiving software won't know what's where.
