I don't know if it would work with such a large thread, but you can copy a thread, change the name as you go, and delete the old one when the new one's confirmed okay. I do this every month with my H2S thread.

I don't use the thread in question, and don't join in the "ebid army" stuff (as you know well, Cornish! ) but it's clear that it gives a lot of forum regulars and newbies alike good encouragement, and a great community feeling. Be a shame to lose that. But if the name were to be changed to the more enigmatic yet accurate "eBid Army Mess Room" or something, it might be a good idea? I don't know who the OP for that thread was (and am too lazy to look!) but if they're still around they might be willing to try. And if they're not, or are hesitant about the mechanics, I'm sure a polite request to support would stand a good chance.

Very sensible as usual Kimbo! Actually Title Change would remove needful camoflage protection that limits casual passer byers. Not a good thing for an up and coming army.

Good heavens, I shouldn't think so! Not unless it was sabotaged and they had to get rid of naughty language in one fell swoop. (looks around nervously) I hope I haven't given anyone ideas! And I want to stress, I was only correcting the false understanding that you can't change titles, and explaining how and why somebody might want to do that. I've no axe to grind here. I'm not saying it *should* happen, only that it *could* if folks wanted it to.
