Hi, I have just joined ebid, I am really looking forward to selling my handmade clothes for collectible dolls and bears without all the huge fees
on the site that shall not be named.

Is this a forum just for the UK? I have been on here for nearly 3 weeks with 78 listings and received not one question or bid...What's up? I came from the "nasty" ebay with over 1100 100% positive feedbacks and now I cannot make a sale....at alot less than I was asking before...is it that I'm not addressing the UK buyers? I don't even know what it would cost me (or the buyer) to ship to the UK....

If I looked like you, I would post many a picture...but since I'm 64 and just trying to "make it" I'll have to find a really "good" photo to post about myself.

Ebid started in the UK, but we are getting many members from the USA over the last 2 years, and there are more listngs available to ebid USA members than there are to UK members. (but they may be from the UK ?)

You have to look at the size of the market, the UK has a much smaller population, but only one other major alt site. The USA has 5 times the population but several major alt sites.

It would not cost much to post beads to the UK I would think.
Many older people look quite distinguished.

Sales can be made but it takes time since this site is not as well known as the big one. Let your old buyers know where you have landed. If you have a facebook account, promote your items. Tell your friends, family, and everyone about ebid. Read the forums to see how to promote your store.
