Thread: an add-on for this website failed to run .....

Default an add-on for this website failed to run .....

    Hi

I keep getting the above message everytime I do something and it's driving me mad!
Also says to check the security settings in the Internet Options for potential conflicts.

I've looked and have no idea what I'm looking for - any ideas please as it's very irritating bleeping
    at me constantly.

    Thanks very much

Any time you do anything, or any time you do something? If the latter, then state what you are doing when you get the error message.

I don't think eBid requires many add-ins to be available. Flash is the most likely (it is used for the countdown timers).

I think this is the most frustrating segment of computing,
having a problem and trying to find what you do not know what to call it....

Hi - sorry to post and run!

Well I haven't changed anything and it's stopped beeping at me.
It was doing it each time I went into a thread or moved onto another page.

No idea why, but so long as it stays "stopped" I don't care

sorry got to run again - must get to the post office, asda, doctors, pharmacy, dry cleaners and garage .... rest of the afternoon is mine!!

    Thanks guys.

If you powered down your pc in the meantime or closed your browser your problem may have resolved itself. Most common IT fix "Turn it off, turn it back on", good for 90%+ of pc errors

The often method (off on = offon = often)
Used that quite a lot in the old day's.

When I ran a BBS, my PC ran 24/7 for 3 years.

The day I closed the BBS I powered down the PC. The next time I switched it on it died. The shock I suppose...
