I just thought that I would pass along hubby's comments, because he made a valid point ... about auction sites in general. Not just eBid.
Indeed - I certainly don't buy from scruffy listing on e*** either! For me - it's listings in multi-colour inks and huge letters (as if they know they shouldn't use capitals and thought they'd try huge lower case instead). I just can't be bothered to read it. Don't start me off about endless lists of "terms and conditions" that are not worth the paper/screen they are written on....

So there are a few things we should avoid as eBid sellers...

I agree with some of the above comments.
Poor listings do not give ebid a good name or help it in any way.

But aside from assiging some people to check on every listing what can you do ?

That is the problem with online auction sites.
You cannot force everyone to be a good seller.

Its up to each person how much effort they want to put into each item.

Well…Let’s do what Dzambo do on eBid in the past 525 days…list new items DAILY and less chit-chat DAILY….but like my ‘’friend ‘’Al’’ told me ‘’not everybody is capable to do that (probably he mean for new listing daily) for chit-chat everybody is capable for that as I can see daily…but that’s ok I just say what you do most on eBid in same way you will have the same results…because on eBid is all only up to you…and by the way for about positive comments for eBid I just add: try to tell truth all the time and how it is for real because if you don’t many visitors who checking daily eBid will find truth very easy and some of members will lose credibility for own writing…and potential members will spread word around…In the end eBid is still very good place to try to sell own stuff but all is up to only you and if you can make sales, or make living from that sales and all other auction stuff is still only up to YOU…....

Maybe new sellers should have to sit a course before they join ebid to learn all the does and don'ts

But seriously if all the "bad listers" improved their listings, then their sales would improve and that would also improve ebid's sales.

But its never going to happen, as auction sites, by their very nature appeal to amateur sellers.
That is how anyone with an internet connection can get started.

I'm sorry, I don't usually highlight typos (do too many myself ) but I couldn't help reading that in a Rowan Atkinson voice and giggling.

Glad I'm not the only one who laughed out loud; sorry, Stevie, you have a super blog.

Queen of bad typos here, even found some in my listings, oops...

Best wishes for many sales to all,

The problem is that eBay started as an auction site, no 'buy it now' options. People using the site had to auction their goods, no other way, which made it popular, interesting and exciting. This site has no auction aspect so it is much like any other online shop.

Well…doesn’t matter because if we don’t have ‘’buy it now’’ options and I think in that case you will see starting price for each item the same price like you see now with ‘’buy it now’’ options…and why is that…?....you can easy figure out…....
