    Default FYI: Latest scam

    Ha! This one got one of my De Luxe replies:

    Dear Friend

    Greetings in the name of God,Pls let this not sound strange to you for my only surviving lawyer who would have done this died early this year.i prayed and got you email id from your country's christian guest book which i have been with my late husband and liked to visit once more if God will in his infinite mercies.

    I am Mrs. Mary George from London I am 58 years old,i am suffering from a long time cancer of the lungs which also affected my brain,from all indication my conditions is really deteriorating and it is quite obvious that, according to my doctors they have advised me that i may not live for the next two months,this is because the cancer stage has gotten to a very bad stage. I was brought up from a motherless babies home was married to my late husband for twenty years without a child ,my husband died in a fatal motor accident Before his death we were true Christians.Since his death I decided not to re-marry,I sold all my inherited belongings and deposited all the sum of 10million dollars with a First Inland Bank.

    Presently, this money is still with them and the management just wrote me as the true owner to come forward to receive the money for keeping it so long or rather issue a letter of authorization to somebody to receive it on my behalf since I can not come over because of my illness or they get it confiscated.

    Presently, I'm with my laptop in a hospital in Switzerland where I have been undergoing treatment for cancer of the lungs. my doctors have told me that I have only a few months to live.It is my last wish to see that this money is invested to any organisation of your choice and distributed each year among the charity organization,the poor and the motherless babies home.

    I want you as God fearing person, to also use this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows,I took this decision, before i rest in peace because my time will so on be up.

    As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the First Inland Bank.I will also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the new beneficiary of my fund. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein.

    You are requested to send to me the following information to enable me use it to write a Letter of Authorization on your behalf to the bank so that they will release the money to you as my new next of kin.

    (1) Your full names :===================================

    (2) personal or official contact address:===============================

    (3) Home or Office phone#:============Cellphone#:==========Fax#:===== ==

    (4) Your Age:===============

    (5)Occupation:===========================

    (6)Sex/Marital status:========================

    Please reply me through this my private email address:

    When they start like that I just have to read on because it can make my response even better! Unfortunately, my replies will never be for public consumption - even I blush when I read them back - NOT! hahahaha!!

    Oh that poor poor woman - what an incredibly sad & unlucky life she's had!
    I must write off to her straight away with all my details - Oh yes - I must include my banking details as well for her!

    Isn't it amazing that a person can be so unfortunate & still end up with 10 mil in the bank???

    This reminds me of the old joke about the ad in the lost & found pets column.

    Lost:
    One desexed male mongrel 10 year old dog.
    Is blind in one eye, missing one rear leg & has a mangled floppy right ear.
    Currently undergoing treatment for the mange.
    Reward offered - answers to the name "Lucky"

    By responding to such emails just confirms that your email is alive and kicking and waiting to be flooded with junk mail from around the world. I never, ever respond, I don't even open and read.

    If I receive unwanted, unrequested mail, it goes straight in the bin for deletion including the 'enhance your penis' mail and the 'let viagra make a tiger out of you' mail and not forgetting 'use this male product to grow your hair back' mailings.

    I forget how many times I've won the European lottery or the World lottery with millions of bucks at stake.

    Sometimes just "opening" a scam email will get you on their "hit list"....You should always 'hover' your cursor over the sender in your email inbox...if it's an email address you don't recognize or looks fishy.......DUMP IT!!! DO NOT OPEN!!!

    I've read conflicting reports about opening emails. Most say it's opening attachments to an email that cause trouble, others say just opening the email can do it. I use the option to "View Source Code" if I'm not sure or curious. That doesn't open the email, so my computer won't pick up spam and it won't alert the sender.

    If I can't find the message in normal text, bye bye. If the sender name doesn't ring a bell, bye bye. Once in a great while it is something I want from a company whose name I forgot, so I don't dismiss things out of hand.
