Yes I work for ebid here in new Zealand as a marketing consultant on a yearly salary.

No its just that I am always thinking of things, and like to comment on other ideas if I think they are worthwhile ideas.

As I said, the present marketing system is not working.
Ebid only came up with one person making good regular sales on the Tamebay site.

It looks like everyone is happy for ebid to carry on as a hobby site.

I find it interesting how different people look at something and see different things.

I have never thought it my role to advise eBid how to run their business.

So far as I am aware the business hasn't floated so I couldn't buy shares which would mean I would have more of a say.

I am not content with hobby status! Unfortunately, listing higher end items to change that status, is not always the assured fix. Still awaiting payment of 2 BIN items.........what is a seller to do. Not receiving payment, has the same end effect as not getting a bid or purchase.

P.S. I will pass on the car for now. If I did win one, it would for sure get listed for sale.

Something needs to be done. Those of you who don't like suggestions then I guess you must be the ones making all of the money off of this site because I have yet to see any buyers. Buddy Points aren't going to make me money, they aren't going to pay my bills. I came here hoping to see light at the end of the feebay tunnel. I would even pay 5 % of my sales if that meant advertising was to be done. Yes, it's more but not making anything right now is not doing anything for me. Those of you who say advertising doesn't work, how do you think you found out about Ebay in the first place years ago. It wasn't because someone randomly found it scrolling through the internet and thought I bet this place sells stuff. This place could have so much potential if it tried harder. If everyone is content on this site to just list items and talk to each other on the forums without selling anything than go do that somewhere else. Some of us are here because we NEED to make a living.

actually i found ebay because i heard it mentioned in a tv program. Just getting ebids name out there and getting people talking about it has to help

Yes, because of how they advertised the site years ago is how they made it into TV shows and news forums. I hear Ebay on all kind of shows. They don't have to advertise anymore because they are well known now. Also, at that time it had no competition. Times are different now. Word of mouth is only going to get you so far. This place started in 2008 and I never heard about it until last month just because I was sick of Ebay on the selling end. That's who knows about this site is FORMER EBAY SELLERS. You must be making a lot of money if you can say ebid doesn't need to do anything and that you like it just the way it is. I haven't made a sale, but I have pretty much figured out that the majority of people that have viewed my items are sellers.

Ebid has no obligation to provide you with a way to make a living, if this is what you need, i think you are the one who needs to go elsewhere, for now anyway.
