    Default Ethernet Bridge Plugs

Can any of you technically minded computer folk give me a heads-up on these plugs? I bought two - dunno why (can't remember!) and I really haven't a Scooby what to do with them (I have a router). Oh - and I would welcome any advice in plain speak, thank you much!

Can you be more specific about what it is you're referring to?

An ethernet bridge is exactly that - a bridge between two network segments. Mostly for home use, they're used to bridge between an internal ethernet network which may have a number of connections to a connection to your ISP (internet service provider) for connection to the internet on the other side of the bridge. Think of it as a bridge over a river, on one bank is the ethernet network and on the other bank is the internet.

I have no idea of what an 'ethernet bridge plug' is.

Sorry Zen - maybe I should have put the word "adapter" in there. But I think Pat has given me the answer and I'll be selling these daft things cos not what I thought they were. I'm changing my broadband provider anyway. Fed up with slow broadband speeds and pages taking ages to load - and trying to speak to eejits who haven't a Scooby what THEY - or I'm - talking about!

Thank you both for your help.

Eh no, Zen! And I'm more than a bit insulted! I might be thick when it comes to the inner workings of computers but I do know what a bleedin USB DONGLE is! If you care to have a look at the following link, these are exactly what I am talking about:
