3 Big guns Travel to Scotland to save the Union.
a week Tomorrow is Referendum Day.
When he visited Edinburgh in May 2013, Nigel Farage was told quite explicitly where he could stick his Union Jack by a bunch of pro-European Union separatists.
When he tried to escape from the separatists demonstrating against him and UKIP values, the taxi driver whose cab he climbed in to refused to take his fare. He then had to seek refuge in a bar with the doors locked behind him for his own safety until a police van turned up to take him away.
At the time he seemed to be quite taken aback by the fact that there are people in Scotland who do not like the English and seemed to be completely unaware of this.
Hopefully he has been able to get out more since then and is now a bit more up to speed on Scottish affairs.
However, he might find that he has got the timing of his weekend visit wrong. Turning up after the three amigos have spun their magic today and there will be no chance of him influencing hearts and minds. The Yes camp will be showing an unassailable clear lead after today.
It is amazing that the people heading up to Scotland from England who think they can influence people do not realise that they are the very epitomy of why the Yes camp want to go their own way. Talk about being out of touch with reality.
Presumably the pro-European Union separatist leader Alex Salmond, who is a lot smarter than most English people give him credit for, is crying with happiness into his whisky with all these people coming up from England to do his freedom fighting for him.
Apparently the Admiralty have regarded the two names as being interchangeable since at least 1902. Buckingham Palace historians also think that the "Jack" is a reference to King James 6th (1st of England) rather than anything naval in origin.
Seems that calling it the Union Jack, or Union Flag makes no difference.
And indeed, who would have thought that a pub would be a good place to hide from some Scotsmen.
and now the big guns are joining the fray........
