I agree with it as a rule.

Motorist are having the p**s taken out of them everyday.

If everyone gave up driving, smoking, & drinking for just 7 days, the goverment would lose millions if not billions

I have said this in the past and say it again....if the motorist stopped driving for a few days....it would hit home.....but the replies I got was in the line of I need my car to get to the shops , etc...why not get more shopping in when you are there ?? there is no need to go every day ???..just a little thought as to how you plan your week would make a big difference....
give it a bit thought ?? Please ????.............Papa. ( please , do not all shout at once )

HI Red , I am sure I said the last time a ( a few weeks ago ) that I had stopped using the car as much....I only use it once or twice a week now...and the wife is the same with hers...there are neighbours doing similar here...though I must admit , nothing organised ...but as a nation of motorists , we are really bad for moaning and doing nothing about it....
    ....papa.

this is very much by the by and nothing to do with the tread as such but....

maple and I had 2 cars but we traded them in for an almost new car as it was pointless having two cars as we now live together.... my old car was a 2ltr and £50 of petrol did about 200 mile... the new car is a 1300 and cost £27 to fill it... so far for a quarter of a tank we have got 115 miles on the clock

The union claims that drivers' average pay before overtime of £32,000 has not increased since 1992. It suggests a wage of £36,000 a year would be fairer.

Drivers have rejected an improved offer of a 6.8% pay rise, which the companies claim would have increased drivers' average salaries, including overtime, from £36,500 to around £39,000 a year.
GRRRRRRR wish I could be earning that much....they've got a nerve striking for that.

Last week, I put £180 in my tank.
    I'm a taxi driver.
I agree with the strike totally.
what would happen if say for instance, every cab driver (in protest) decided to take the Saturday night off.
    How would people get home?
    There would be uproar.

You agree with the tanker drivers wanting higher wages and you think their dispute is important enough to effect (potentially) millions of ordinary drivers?
