I've found that if you paste pure html into the html listing editor and then switch to one of the wysiwyg editors it can screw up the original html. I assume this is because the wysiwyg editors do not implement the full html language.

    Anyone else noticed this?

I'm using Firefox not IE - will this make a difference?

Eeewww, that's nasty! I pasted your code into a test auction and it worked fine (and very nice it looked too!) I didn't actually submit, just went as far as preview... is your funny result showing that soon, or only when you submit? It looks like your backgrounds (bg) have got well and truly messed up. I also did the paste into html then switch back to wysiwyg thing, and it still worked fine.

I'm inclined to agree with Astral - I never use the wysiwyg editors because they have a habit of messing up my (very basic html) layout etc. If you can edit the text before pasting it into eBid then that should be your problem solved, you could even edit in a plain text editor (i.e. not Word or WordPad - use Notepad on Windows or TextWrangler on Mac OS) and save the file as .html or .txt

It looks OK when I am preparing the auction, but things go pearshaped at the preview stage.....I've tried lots of times but still get the same result .....off to make a strong coffee then I'll try again

Hmm, OK, what application are you copying from? It could be that you're using something other than a plain text editor that's introducing hidden text formatting or incorrect CR/LF control characters. Try using Notepad or a similar plain text editor to copy and paste from.

I just tried it in Firefox 3, looks fine. I'm copying directly from your post here to a new listing in Firefox, if that's not working for you then I really am lost on this one! I'm on a Mac, doubt that has anything to do with it though.

I'll try this pm when I can get access to my PC and pick up the original html again in Notepad.

I'll let you know the results

Gone right back to basics....now I've got to strip out the unwanted links and then personalise for eBid.

Thanks to you all for your help
