    Default Bulky items postage rate

I hope I'm not doing a grandmother sucking eggs thing here!
I'm in the process of selling a fuel tank from a CF through the Bedford CF club, the recipient lives in Jersey. The tank itself only weighs11kgs & measures 95cm x 62cm x 30cm.Because of its size they process it by its volumetric weight which then adds about another £6 to the cost.
So,if you have bulky items to send, don't just price up by its weight.

I am not certain, but I think Jersey comes under the UK charges, which will cause problems. Because you then get the added grief of "how big is the package?" Whereas if it was international there are no size barriers that I know of. If you were sending by international datapost it may be cheaper to arrange a delivery/collection by either you travelling to the buyer or them coming to you. With the low cost of advance booked travel now available.

Probably not of much use in this particular case, but here is a link to a (usually) very reliable postage calculator (from UK) This chap updates about 2 weeks before things change, so you can include changes in 14-day auction listings.
